adidas outlet store uk Not that long ago, the concept of making shoes and pieces of clothing out of ocean plastic (basically, reclaimed trash), was not something many big brands were interested in. Now, more and more manufacturers are introducing products crafted out of recycled plastic – and fortunately so, since the amount of plastic waste in the oceans is reaching a terrifying all-time high and every new use of the material is more than welcome. The latest initiative of the kind is Adidas’s remake of the brand’s classic shoe design made using Parley plastic yarn.
The updated version of one of the brand’s classic shoes from the 1990s is a part of Adidas’s established collaboration with Parley for the Oceans, an environmental initiative focused on the oceans and marine wildlife.

The shoe is decorated with wave-patterned stitching and available in two color combinations: dark navy/blue and white/turquoise. The molded heel counter at the back of the shoe is made out of recycled plastic and the outsole – from recycled rubber.“Living in urban areas, our relationship with the health of the earth’s oceans is sometimes easy to overlook – this collaboration seeks to create a change,” the brand stated.
Together with Parley for the Oceans, Adidas has previously released a line of footwear made out of recycled ocean plastic in 2016.
